Detailed Candidate Information Now Online for the Primary and General Elections

DES MOINES – Today, Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro announced candidate materials are now available for the upcoming 2010 Primary and General elections.

Important information for 2010 state and county office candidates can be found on the Secretary of State’s Website at www.sos.state.ia.us on the “Voter/Elections” page under “Information for Candidates.” The page can be accessed directly at http://www.sos.state.ia.us/elections/candidates/index.html.

There, the public will find important filing deadlines, required nomination papers, and a list of offices that will appear on the ballot. In addition, detailed guides are available to assist candidates in meeting the requirements of Iowa’s election laws.

Candidates for county offices may also visit their local county auditor’s office for required candidate materials and information.
