HOUSE DISTRICT 90 EARLY ABSENTEE BALLOT UPDATE

DES MOINES – Secretary of State Michael A. Mauro announced, as of noon today, 2,156 early absentee ballots have been received by county auditors’ offices in House District 90, which includes all of Van Buren County, and portions of Jefferson and Wapello Counties. (See below for breakdown by party registration.)

The deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot is tomorrow, Friday, at 5 p.m. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Monday, Aug. 31. Voters may still request absentee ballots in-person at their county auditor’s office until close of business on Monday, Aug. 31, the day before election day.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, county auditors’ offices in H.D. 90 will be open for in-person absentee voting. Voters may check with their county auditor for business hours on this day. In addition, absentee ballots received in the mail may be hand-delivered to the county auditor’s office until 9 p.m. on election day.

Secretary Mauro encourages those voters who have received absentee ballots to be sure to return completed ballots to their county auditor’s office prior to the deadline.
