STATE CANVASSING BOARD CERTIFIES H.D. 90 SPECIAL ELECTION Results, Turnout Now Official DES MOINES – Today, members of the Executive Council convened as the State Canvassing Board to certify the final election results from the Sept. 1 special election in House District 90. Democrat Curt Hanson was officially declared the winner, receiving 3,965 total votes. Republican Stephen Burgmeier received 3,838 total votes. Out of the 21,726 registered voters in the district, 8,094 participated in the special election.
